Tattooing since the age of 12, Barth has inked everyone from Lenny Kravitz and Wendy Williams to Jason Kidd and Jim Jones. With almost thre decades of experience, the 40-year-old is considered one of the most versatile and innovative artists in the industry. As owner of Starlight Tattoo in New Jersey, he boasts a clientele of over 15,000 patrons. Taking his craft from its hardcore rebel ancestry to corporate necessity, Barth recently signed a groundbreaking deal with Revoliton Air. Catering to the needs of executives and entertainers on-the-go, he now offers celebs mile-high tattoos in the comfort of their charter jets. He also acts as a consultant for reconstructive micro-pigmentation on cancer patients, creating special inks for use in surgery for enhanced natrual dermal appearences.
The award-winning aritst is so in-demand that he has a year-and-a-half waiting list for clients. Individualizing each desgn to fit the personality of his client, Barth creates fluid ink portraits and fantasy pieces that are well worth the long lines.
"The tattoo is about whatever the client wants," says Barth. "I can pen their story so long as it isn't ethnically or culturally offensive. You have to be happy with it in the morning."
